Health on the Run

So I have been on a health kick lately...This journey to healthy has been a process of its own. First I was working on finding healthy alternatives to my bad-for-you favorites. Next I trudged into the territory of trying to find those healthy ingredients on the cheap. Now I'm in the phase of finding healthy and quick.
It's not hard to find out what is healthy, "healthy" has crept into almost every square inch of the world wide web. There are a million and one sites with savory recipes that boast its nutritional benefits. Often times we get so caught up in the pictured outcome that we skim over one of the most crucial aspect of a recipe...time. I can't speak for everyone else, however, my life is like a revolving door of events. Whenever one crisis is adverted another follows shortly after. Thus, my time is limited in regards to cook time and meal preparation. This leaves me ransacking the Internet for quick and tasty recipe ideas. This Banana-Oat smoothie recipe is the fruit of my labor. It blends itself together in 10 minutes. Yes, I said 10 minutes and it boasts only 84 calories a serving. This instantly became my go to on-the-go meal.

Here is what you will need:

A blender or food processor
1/2 cup of plain low-fat Greek yogurt (or regular yogurt)
1 banana (cut into thirds)
1/2 cup of fat free milk
2 tsp of honey
& 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

You blend the ingredients together, and there you have it...Your delicious banana-oat smoothie.

Note: You can add ice to the mixture if you like to drink your smoothie cold.

I love this recipe, but let the Al fresco fans know what you think. Was it delicious?  Was it vile to your taste buds? Or did it just need a little something extra? Let us know, we would love to hear  from you.
